Eine sehr spielfreudige Besetzung führte am 1., 3., 6., 8. und 11. Dezember 1992
im Theatre 8e von Lyon diese Oper von Donizetti auf.

Man hatte für diese Inszenierung ein historisches Mittelmaß gewählt: es spielte nicht Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts wie von Donizetti angesiedelt, sondern Anfang unseres Jahrhunderts, wie man den Plakaten in einem Bild und dem Oldtimer derselben Szene entnehmen konnte, was sich aber gut machte. Die Geschichte in unsere Zeit zu verlegen, hatte man jedoch glücklicherweise vermieden, sicherlich auch, um das malerische der Bühne zu erhalten.
For this staging they had chosen a historic compromise: the time was not set in the beginning of the 19th century, as set by Donizetti, but in the beginning of our century, as we could see from the posters in the first stage-setting and the oldtimer-car of the same scene, what fittet the scenery. Fortunately they did not put it in our time, certainly to keep the beautyful picturesque look of the scenery.
Das gut zusammenpassende und excellent eingespielte Team Barbara Hendricks, Gino Quilico und Gabriel Bacquier zogen in diesem musikalischen Feuerwerk alle Register ihres komödiantischen Könnens. Es war ein absolutes Vergnügen, diesen Solisten zuzuhören und -zusehen.
The well harmonizing and excellently prepared team of Barbara Hendricks, Gino Quilico and Gabriel Bacquier drew all their registers of their comical abilities in this musical firework. It was a real pleasure, to listen and to watch these soloists.
